The Imposition of Federal Caps in Medical Malpractice Liability Actions: Will They Cure the Current Crisis in Health Care?

The Firm
Few lawyers have taught the law, published in its journals, and decided disputes from the bench — all while never stepping away from the courtroom. Adam D. Glassman has, and he brings all of it to every client he represents.
Adam Glassman’s career began where most plaintiffs’ lawyers never go: inside an insurance company. As a trial attorney — and later senior trial attorney — at Zurich Insurance, he spent five years learning how carriers investigate claims, value injuries, and decide when to fight and when to pay.
He then crossed to the plaintiffs’ side for good. From 2000 to 2004 he served as chief trial attorney of the Law Office of Alan C. Glassman, a plaintiffs’ personal-injury practice, before founding The Glassman Law Group in 2004. In 2020 the story came full circle: he acquired his former firm, uniting the two practices.
Along the way, he spent fifteen years as a New York State Administrative Law Judge, weighing evidence and deciding cases. That judicial perspective now shapes how he builds cases for clients: anticipating what the decision-maker needs to see, and delivering it with precision.
Alongside his practice, Adam taught law for seventeen years — at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, where he was recognized as one of its most outstanding professors, and at CUNY’s Macaulay Honors College, Hunter College, and Touro College. Teaching sharpened the skill that wins cases: making complicated things clear.
Today, The Glassman Law Group concentrates on personal injury, medical malpractice, and complex litigation throughout New York City and Long Island, with a select counsel practice in real estate, business, and estates.
